Google Analytics
The code powering the Google Analytics metrics page has been migrated from legacy PHP to Typescript to enable Marketing Milk to keep up with future improvements. For example, in summer 2023, Google will be sunsetting the current incarnation of GA (Universal Analytics) and will be pushing all accounts to upgrade to Google Analytics 4. Currently GA4 is not supported on the Google Analytics Metrics page of Marketing Milk. We plan to make this transition in early 2023.
In late 2020, we rolled out changes that enable each pod to register their own Google account credentials with Marketing Milk. Effectively, this means that every pod should now be subject to a 100 account limit, rather than the entire business. You will be shown how to update your pods accounts within the coming weeks.
Google AdWords / Ads
You may have been aware that Google has sunset their Google AdWords product, and all associated APIs, in late April. Their new product that replaces AdWords is called Google Ads. We have been working hard to keep up with these changes and migrate to their new APIs.
With these updates, we have made changes to our Google Metrics page to bring our UI more in alignment with how Google reports and displays data on their dashboard. Please check it out and let us know what you think.
Remove Business Grade Functionality
"Business Grades" were contradicting our ROI projections and no longer fit within the narrative that we're trying to tell with our analytics data on the client dashboard. It was distracting and causing confusion, so we removed it.

Cyclr Bridge Improvements
Data integrity can be a real problem for some of the systems that we integrate with. For example, some systems send us invalid phone numbers, but the rest of the data might be good. For example...
fn | ln | phone | email | value |
Joe | Smith | 8y^$3&^%fa | joesmith@gmail.com | 350 |
When that data is sent to Marketing Milk to be ingested and forwarded to Facebook, the whole line item will get rejected because the phone number is bad. However, if the phone number were simply removed, then the rest of the data could still be submitted.
Therefore, we have introduced a new validation endpoint. This endpoint can be used in conjunction with advanced Cyclr features, such as decision trees, to help sanitize and "scrub" data before it actually gets submitted to Marketing Milk to be ingested.
If you are an AM and believe that your clients or bridges could benefit from this new technique, please get in contact with Craig Wessel to setup a consultation.
